Why Sea Spirit?

Sea Spirit is one of the smallest expedition ships exploring the Arctic and Antarctica, with just 114 guests per expedition. The small size allows it to explore narrow fjords and small bays that larger ships can’t reach. The ship features a classic style with lots of charm and character that is lost on some of the more modern expedition ships.

Sea Spirit was built in 1991 and renovated in 2017. It features retractable fin stabilisers, which help reduce the ship’s movement on sea passages and when it is at anchor.

Dining On Sea Spirit

Sea Spirit has one main dining room that seats all guests in one sitting. There are no fixed tables so you can choose where you would like to sit. Guides often join guests during meal times, which adds to the atmosphere of exploration. The restaurant has a traditional, nautical style with brass portholes and dark wood furnishings.

The ship’s chefs serve a range of contemporary, international cuisine buffet-style at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All dietary requirements can be accommodated.

Cabins On Sea Spirit

Sea Spirit ship offers eight cabin options: triple, main deck, classic, superior, deluxe, premium, single, and owner’s suites.

The Sea Spirit cabins are outward-facing and equipped with private en suite facilities.

The main deck cabins are tastefully decorated in a traditional style. They have an exterior view, and a picture window overlooks the sea. The cabins are well-proportioned for a small ship, and guests often comment on how spacious the accommodations are.

Each cabin features two twin beds or a king-sized bed, a flat-screen TV, a safe for valuables, and an ensuite bathroom.

The spacious suites are on the upper decks. The Superior suites are on the club deck, and the deluxe suites are on the sports deck.

The deluxe, Premium, and Owners suites all feature private balconies. Amenities include en suite facilities, an in-room safe, a walk-in closet, a refrigerator, satellite telephone access, a TV, and individual temperature control.

The Owner’s Suite has a separate living room with a game and meeting area and sliding glass doors leading to a private deck. This room is a great spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. It features a comfortable sofa bed and a private balcony with sliding glass doors.

The cabins on the Sea Spirit feature daily turn-down service and have exterior views.

Onboard Experience

Aboard Sea Spirit guests will enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere. The ship has spacious common areas decorated in a classic style with many relaxing places.

The Oceanus Lounge is where lectures and briefings take place. It features comfortable seating for all guests.

Sea Spirit features an outdoor hot tub, gym, and polar boutique. It also has an enclosed quiet library, presentation lounge, and club lounge.

The Sun Deck is a great spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. It features a hot tub, outdoor seating area, and lunchtime BBQs. The Sun Deck is also a great spot for wildlife spotting and taking in the breathtaking views.

The ship has an open bridge policy, and guests can view the navigation and talk to the officers and captain.

The Sea Spirit includes a well-stocked bar that serves a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Sea Spirit offers exciting itineraries to explore the northern and southern polar regions. In the Arctic, choose between cruises to explore Svalbard, East Greenland, and Iceland.
