Why Choose MS Roald Amundsen Expedition Ship
As the world’s first hybrid-electric expedition cruise ship, you can explore the pristine polar regions while minimising your carbon footprint with innovative battery-powered propulsion systems. The ship’s electric propulsion means quieter, emission-free sailing and less fuel consumption, making every journey more sustainable.
MS Roald Amundsen is one of two hybrid ships. The sister ship is the MS Fridtjof Nansen. Both ships have the same hybrid technology designed for polar expedition cruising. The ship’s advanced electric propulsion reduces fuel consumption and emissions even further, setting a new standard for eco-friendly travel at sea.
The ship’s expert expedition team includes marine biologists, glaciologists and polar historians who turn every voyage into an educational experience, with workshops in wildlife photography, navigation techniques and polar survival skills.
The ship is designed to get every guest as close to the action as possible. The spacious outside cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, and personal observation decks for wildlife viewing.
Ship Features & Technology
