Le Lyrial was built in 2015 and is the fourth of four sister ships (L’ Austral, Le Soleal, and Le Boreal) purpose-built for exploring the most remote places on Earth in comfort and style. Each of these intimately sized cruise ships has its own distinct colour palette and style. Le Lyrial takes up to 244 guests on Arctic voyages and 200 on Antarctica cruises to create an intimate group size for exploration.

Gastronomic Restaurant
Fine cuisine is essential to French culture, and the Le Lyrial features French-inspired dining options. The Gastronomic Restaurant invites guests into an elegant main dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Ducasse Conseil-trained chefs create a special menu offered aboard Le Lyrial. A fine wine cellar rounds out the experience.
Grill Restaurant
The Grill Restaurant is a casual eating venue for breakfast, buffet lunches, and occasional themed dinners. It features a relaxed atmosphere and a range of dining options. International cuisine is served, with a focus on fresh and local ingredients.
Cabins On Le Lyrial
95% of the staterooms and suites on Le Lyrial offer private balconies for guests. All Le Lyrial accommodations are spacious, with touches of luxury throughout.
Each stateroom or suite features one king-size bed or two twin beds, individually controlled air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a private balcony.
The ship has 122 staterooms and suites with sea views, distributed across decks 3 to 6 with a Prestige suite deck and Privilege suite deck. Guests can choose from various suites, including Prestige Stateroom, Grand Privilege Suite, and deluxe suite deck 6.
The Prestige Stateroom Deck offers luxurious accommodation options, including spacious suites with capacities ranging from 2 to 4 guests. These suites feature king-size beds, dimensions up to 600 square feet, private balconies, and exclusive butler service.
Onboard Experience
Le Lyrial is a rare and innovative kind of ship. It features an outdoor heated pool, which is rarely seen on a ship of this size. The ship also features a SOTHYS™ Spa complete with a Balneotherapy room, hammam, and relaxation room. There is also a fitness centre where guests can use the latest machines.
The main lounge, complete with an observation deck, is the perfect place to take in the sweeping views of the polar ice.
During the expedition, guests attend lectures in the main theatre given by guides, special guests, and onboard naturalists to learn more about the places they are exploring.
Each sailing on Le Lyrial has onboard entertainment including themed diners, live music, movies and shows.
Activities & Excursions
Cruises on Le Lyrial are active and involve exploration. Zodiac cruises are included in the Arctic and Antarctica expeditions. The world-class expedition team takes guests on a daily exploration to visit wildlife colonies and sites of historical interest full of natural wonders.
Onboard guests can attend lectures and recaps provided by the expedition guide team and talks by special guests in the ship’s theatre.
Destinations
Le Lyrial offers an exciting range of Antarctica cruises between November and March. Guests can choose from Emblematic Antarctica, an 11-day expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula or a longer voyage that also visits South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
During the northern summer months, Le Lyrial explores the Arctic region, Northern Europe, and the Mediterranean.
Sustainability
Le Lyrial was built to the latest standards in environmentally friendly expedition cruising. Electric engines help minimize disturbance to wildlife, and the ship’s GPS positioning system allows it to maintain its position without having to anchor in sensitive areas.
The ship has advanced technology to treat wastewater and recycle it, helping to minimize its impact in the polar regions. It also has an onboard environmental officer dedicated to ensuring the ship operates in a clean and sustainable way.
